Japan’s new high-speed Internet record is 80,000 movies downloaded per second. As the Internet has become an integral part of business and daily life, so has Internet speed. As technology advances and evolves, so does the speed of the Internet,of course. Japan sets yet another world record for the fastest internet. I don’t know if Japan will be surprised.

319 terabits per second, or 319 Tbps. Engineers in Japan are listed as the world’s fastest internet at 319 terabits per second (319 Tbps). If you do not understand how fast this speed is, you can roughly assume that you can download 80,000 movies per 500MB per second.

At 1 GB, you can download 39,875 movies in a matter of seconds. In other words, if only the storage device could accept the speed, that would be enough. At 319 Tbps in GB/s, it is 39875 Gigabytes per second. This means you can download 39875 GB per second.

For us, we can not afford to use that speed if we can not afford the internet. To break this record, researchers at Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology have developed a four-core test fiber optic cable instead of the usual single-core optical fiber.

They are then combined with a fiber-optic laser amplification technology that can transmit at speeds of up to 1,800 miles per hour at speeds of up to 319Tbps.
The previous record for the fastest Internet speed was 44.2 terabits per second, with Australian researchers using a new device called a micro-comb to achieve that speed.
Dr. Lidia Galdino of the UCL Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering broke the record at 178 terabits per second in partnership with Xtera and KDDI Research.

Now it has reached a speed that surpasses those records, and it does not take long for Netflix to download all the movies.
Will the amazing record increase the speed of the internet throughout the world? Of course, the new record is twice the previous record, at 7.6 million times the average home Internet speed in the United States.
If you think lasers and amplifiers used to get this amazing internet speed are cheap and get around 300Tbps for home use, forget it.

It will take a long time for this to happen. Now it’s just a record-breaking test of how fast the Internet can go.
